Round 2
Top Water Fishing
One of the finest ways to fish is to fish top water lures. One that I find most productive is The Zara Puppy. When this lure is fished in the manner it was designed to be used, It can bring you strike after strike. I find that with changes in temperature you must work it differently. In cool weather slightly lift your rod with a couple quick upward motions, then let it just sit there. Repeat this off and on in your whole retreive. Sooner or later you will get an explosive strike. In warm to hot water work it fast and steady. If the fish strikes and misses just stop for a few seconds, chances are he'll come back for the kill.

The Great Northerns
Ocassionally while fishing fresh water lakes, you may experience a quick jolt on your line then a clean break. Most likely this is the mighty Northern Pike. Pike are known for slamming there prey from the side and driving them towards the bottom. If using a spinnerbait a pike will hit it from the rear giving you a better chance of landing it without a wire leader. Don't panic and what ever you do don't give him slack.

Spinner Bait Tip for Spring!
Spring's best spinnerbait action often occurs during midday hours as the sun warms the surface temperature around shallow bushes in bays and creeks. You often can find good spinnerbait water by idling into such areas and looking for baitfish activity.
